The Thongy is perfect for the days of the end of the cycle (it’s the equivalent of a pantiliner). It’s also an excellent backup to the menstrual cup.
NOTE: The Thongy is made a little smaller, feel free to take 1 size above!

- The Thongy is designed for light flow days with built-in protection equivalent to a panty liner.
- This model is used as is, without the need to add removable, washable pads.
- Ideal for the start and end of the cycle, when your bleeding is lighter (and you don't want to wear the cup for the last 4 drops)
- It is also an excellent addition to the menstrual cup, as additional protection for leaks or overflows (a backup to the cup!)

- Measure your hip circumference at the widest point, as shown in the photo below.
- Compare the measurement to the size chart. You will find the size of the corresponding underwear. That way, your Mme L'Ovary will delight you!
- If you are in between measurements, we recommend taking the size above for more comfort.

Wash: By machine or by hand (with lukewarm water). Use biodegradable gentle soap or Mme L'Ovary soap. Add a few drops of lavender or tea tree essential oil every now and then for a thorough wash!
Dry: Dry flat or hang outside. Avoid the dryer as much as possible, but you can use it for about 15-20 minutes at low temperatures to make sure everything is dry.
Share (Optionnal): Dig a hole in the ground and pour the pre-wash water at the foot of a tree, in your garden or in your houseplants. (Dig a deep hole and cover with soil once your offering has been made)

Each Mme L'Ovary daytime panty includes 3 removable pads that keep you dry all day long, using the same panty. Removable pads can be changed throughout the day, according to your "flow".

How do I wash and take care of my Mme L'Ovary?
Mme L'Ovary washes like normal panties, except that you have to do 1 more step: rinse with cold water. It's as simple as that! See the maintenance guide for details
What about the smell?
Strong odours are produced when blood comes into contact with synthetic materials such as plastic. The chemical reaction between our blood and the chemical components contained in sanitary pads or tampons is therefore responsible for the sometimes strong or unpleasant odours. We must not above all, associate our menstrual blood with foul-smelling garbage & embarrassing waste!
When blood comes into contact with natural fibres such as cotton, the smell is much more mild and neutral.
Therefore, we say that odours are not to be feared when you're wearing Mme L'Ovary.
Should the panties be washed before the first use?
Yes, it is always preferable, due to the handling of underwear when making and placing them in the carrier bags.
If I already use the menstrual cup, do I need Mme L'Ovary?
Yes, absolutely.
Mme L'Ovary is the menstrual cup's best friend: and its ideal addition (or even a replacement!)
Our panties allow you to choose the times when your want to let your menstrual cycle flows naturally, without having a "foreign object" holding the blood inside (which can be liberating and help reduce menstrual cramps).
In addition, even if you wear the cup continuously, it is good to have an alternative for the night (and give your body a "break").
According to Health Canada and several gynecologists, the menstrual cup should not remain inside the vagina for more than 4 to 6 hours. Something to keep in mind!

Can Mme L'Ovary panties be used for incontinence or minor bladder incidents?
Mme L'Ovary underwear can be used in case of mild incontinence (for any small oops!). It is not recommended for severe incontinence.
Can I use them if I have a heavy flow?
Yes! Mme L'Ovary underwear is designed for all types of flows. The difference is that people with heavy flows will change their removable pads more often than people with a moderate or light flow.
We offer maxi pads for those who want to add extra protection during their more abundant days.

Yes, it is. We are proud to announce that feminine menstrual products (including Mme L'Ovary's products) are now TAX-FREE in Canada.
For further information, here is the law on the DETAXATION OF FEMALE HYGIENE PRODUITS:
"As of July 1, 2015, the GST and QST will no longer apply to products marketed exclusively for feminine hygiene. The supply of sanitary pads, tampons, sanitary belts, menstrual cups, or other similar products will therefore be zero-rated."

What is the lifespan of my Mme L'Ovary panties?
They have the same life span as your "normal" panties, but the difference is that you'll wear them once a month (or maybe two times if you wear them twice in the same week).
Hand-washing increases their life span. If you take good care of them, they should be effective... for many years!
Is Mme L'Ovary made of organic cotton?
We offer removable pads made of 100% organic cotton, they are not dyed and are made especially for people who can't tolerate any dye.
We pay close attention to the fabrics we use for fabrication. A 100% organic panty would have a higher cost and our goal is to make it accessible to as many people as possible. That's why L'Ovary is not made of organic cotton at the moment but we are open to offering it in the future!
Do your fabrics contain silver nanoparticles?
No, we made a choice not to use chemical processes that treat tissue with metal nanoparticles.
Unlike other brands of menstrual panties, we prefer to avoid these procedures because there are no studies yet that prove that there is no risk to consumer health.
I have sensitive skin and problems related to dark fabrics. What are the panties made of? Are they going to irritate me?
The panties are made of 94% cotton and 6% lycra. For people who are very sensitive and have problems with irritation related to dyes in underwear, we offer the choice of our 100% organic cotton removable pads made without dye.
Where are they made? Is it Quebecois?
Mme L'Ovary, is a Quebec-based initiative with a commitment to being ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE and ETHICAL.
We design everything in Quebec, and then we go to the city of Medellin in Colombia (nicknamed the "capital of panties" due to the expertise of its seamstresses!), for the manufacturing that is managed and supervised by ourselves on site, in a workshop that meets ethical, social, and environmental standards. In addition, the fabrics used are made in Colombia directly.
How much can the panties and pad absorb compared to a tampon or a sanitary pad?
Each removable Mme L'Ovary pad inserted into the panties absorbs as much as a regular sanitary pad.
Worn alone, the panty also has an absorption capacity equivalent to a panty liner, which adds an extra layer of protection.
What makes the panties so absorbent?
We used different types of fabrics in a precise order and design to create maximum absorption We've used different types of fabrics in a specific order and design to ensure maximum absorption.
Our panties are made of, among other things, cotton, fleece, PUL(a material also used in cloth diapers), and absorbent fabrics.
DAY :
The day model has an integrated protection that is equivalent to a panty liner. However, the pocket inside the panty allows you to add removable pads and thus increase the level of protection to the equivalent of a MAXI sanitary pad. You can change the sanitary pads as needed during the day.
NIGHTIME :
The night panties can be used on their own, just as they are. Absorbent fabrics are sewn directlyinside the panties. The absorption surface is larger and protects you both behind and in front. Whether you sleep on your back or on your stomach, you can sleep on both sides... it absorbs the equivalent of a MAXI sanitary pad.
